Join us in welcoming Ayoub Belemlih to our Engineering Team! Prior to Kipsu, Ayoub studied Computer Science at Macalester College. In his free time, Ayoub enjoys playing/watching soccer, hanging out with friends, hiking, and kayaking. We're so excited to have him a part of the Kipsu team and asked him to chat about his experience at Kipsu so far..
What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?
When I first learned about Kipsu's core values, I identified a focus on collaboration and innovation, and I am very productive in collaborative spaces. Throughout the interview process, I learned about Kipsu's genuine efforts to prepare employees for any future careers they choose to pursue, which was unique and extremely encouraging. Working and collaborating at Kipsu has been an amazing learning experience, and I am happy to be a part of the team.
What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?
Everyone at Kipsu is approachable and willing to help, which made my onboarding and transition to a full time position much simpler than I thought. The focus on collaboration here helps put everyone in a position where they can succeed and help others succeed as well.
What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?
I really enjoy building new things, and I am looking forward to all the technical challenges that come with building new features for Kipsu.
What is your favorite Kipsu core value?
"Go Beyond Together". It's easier to succeed in a space where everyone is equally invested, and willing to help when needed.
If you could meet any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?
I have met this person briefly before, and would love to meet them again for a longer conversation. David Sengeh has recently been nominated Chief Innovation Officer for the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) in Sierra Leone, and has a background in Biomedical Engineering. Mr. Sengeh does a lot of work to promote innovation on the African continent, and has always been an innovator I look up to.
