Join us in welcoming Brianna Anderson to the third round of Kipsu's Entrepreneurship Leadership Rotational Program, the Gamma Cohort! Prior to Kipsu, Brianna studied Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas. Outside of work, Brianna loves crafting, traveling, exercising, and connecting with family and friends. She hopes to start a book club this year, now that she is free of homework! We're thrilled to have her join the Kipsu team and asked Brianna to share her experience with Kipsu so far.
What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?
Initially, I was drawn to Kipsu because I wanted to gain experience working for a startup. Once I was introduced to Kipsu, I quickly learned that this company works extremely hard, takes pride in their work, and holds their core values to a high priority. All of this is important to me and made Kipsu stand out amongst other companies. I knew this company would be a good fit for me because the environment at Kipsu matches my work ethic and goal-oriented personality. Also, I was excited to work here because I knew I would be a valuable team member here rather than just another employee.
What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?
Walking into the office on my first day, any nerves that I had went away. The Kipsu team was very welcoming and willing to help! I cannot tell you how many times I was asked if I had any questions. I knew that if I needed anything, I would receive the help I needed. I was in good hands! Throughout the week, walking around the office, you see people hard at work and collaborating as a team. I love the environment at Kipsu and am excited to be a part of it!
What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?
I am looking forward to being challenged by working in departments and taking on roles that I have not had much exposure to throughout my education. This is going to be a great learning experience for me, especially as I transition from college out into the "real world." The rotation program will help me gain skills that I may not have otherwise developed, help me determine my strengths and weaknesses, and give me a better idea of what roles I like and dislike. I will definitely face challenges, but learning how to overcome these challenges will help me grow and prepare for the future.
What is your favorite Kipsu core value?
Pursue Relentlessly. I am a very self-motivated individual. Because of this, with any task I take on, I aim to complete it with great efficiency and the highest quality. I am looking forward to being surrounded by a team that has this same value. I once read a quote that said, "Don't be the smartest in the room. If you are, go to a different room." At Kipsu, I am lucky to be surrounded by many, many smart people in this one space. Together, with this goal, I believe that we can achieve a lot and collectively grow as individuals and as a company.
If you could meet any person for a chat over a shared dinner who would you pick and why?
If I could have dinner with any person I would choose to meet with Ellen DeGeneres. I have always been passionate about showing small acts of kindness to make others around me happy - Ellen does this everyday on an extreme level. I would love to hear about numerous stories where Ellen has inspired someone, surprised someone, or even changed someone's life. I could use a good laugh too! #relatable
What made you choose to apply for the Entrepreneurship Leadership Rotation Program?
As an entrepreneurship major, I was very intrigued by the rotation program that Kipsu offers. Having an entrepreneurial mindset, I love that I get to see three different aspects of the company and how they each contribute to the overall goals of the company. I am excited to wear multiple hats throughout my first year at Kipsu and constantly be challenged by new tasks and responsibilities from each role.
