Dongmin Park Joins Kipsu!

Join us in welcoming Dongmin Park to our Entrepreneurial Leadership Rotation Program! Prior to Kipsu, Dongmin studied Computer Science and Political Science at Macalester College. In her free time, Dongmin enjoys playing piano and tuba, cloud watching, and eating pizza! We're so excited to have her a part of the Kipsu team and asked her to chat about her experience at Kipsu so far.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

I was intrigued by the leadership rotation program and how it provided an opportunity to try different departments within the company. I had a hard time deciding between technical and non-technical jobs, and this program allowed me to combine both! When I interviewed with Kipsu, I liked how our conversation focused mostly on the people and not the technology. Unlike other tech companies that asked me more technical questions, I was surprised by how many critical questions Kipsu asked!

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

I noticed how fearless the people are at Kipsu. Everyone seems to tackle any problem right away without hesitation, and the energy it gives off is really contagious. The "let's do it" attitude is so refreshing and positive here. It reassures me that everyday I come to work, I come in with excitement and confidence.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

I look forward to juggling different tasks and learning how to prioritize certain ones. There seems to be new things happening everyday and times when I have to work with problems I haven't seen before. I'm excited to see how much I will have learned by next year.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value?

Tough one to choose, but if I had to pick my favorite core value it would be 'Never Be Satisfied'. I think it's great to have a humbling attitude about our solutions and to constantly strive to improve.

If you could meet any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

If I could meet anyone for dinner, I would choose a chef from one of the best pizzerias in Napoli, Italy. I'm assuming that this means I am in Italy, eating great pizza, talking to someone who's passionate about pizza, and a gelateria will be right down the street. Win win win win.
