Life Inside the Kipsu Rotation Program: Baberich

Every spring, Kipsu welcomes a new class of Analysts to our Entrepreneurial Leadership Rotation Program (ELRP). Analysts spend 12 months rotating between Kipsu's 3 core teams learning all aspects of our business. At the end of the program, Analysts are placed on a team permanently. The 2019 ELRP class just completed their first rotation, and we spoke with Baberich Abendan about his experience on the Customer Success Team.

What drew you to Kipsu in the first place?

I was looking for a place that values personal growth and company culture—something that can be easily said about many startups and tech companies. However, Kipsu specifically stood out to me because of how Kipsuvians take ownership of what they do and share their success with everyone.

Which team were you on in this rotation? What type of projects did you undertake?

I was in the Customer Success (CS) Onboarding team this rotation. I co-lead the Kipsu launch of about 80 properties with another Customer Success Onboarding team member. I also worked with the support team handling tickets and doing a lot of problem-solving and teamwork.

What project or accomplishment are you most proud of from your first rotation?

My proudest accomplishment in my first rotation is getting familiar with the software well enough to help our customers.

What did you find most challenging about this rotation?

Getting used to the team's schedule is something I needed to re-adjust myself with, since Kipsu has partners around the globe and offers 24/7 support. The team was nothing but supportive in helping me adjust!

What was your biggest takeaway from this rotation?

This rotation just reinforced why I joined Kipsu. One of our core values is "Never Be Satisfied," and this is something that the CS team wholeheartedly carries every day. We ensure that everyone using Kipsu gets the best value out of it. Through the CS team, I saw exactly why our partners trust and value their relationship with Kipsu.

Which team will you be with next and what are you most excited about?

Next, I will be transitioning to the Engineering Product Analyst team. I'm most excited to find solutions to existing problems that we have and to have a hand in creating new features! My experience with the CS team laid a foundation of understanding of our partner's needs, so I'm excited to go into Engineering and look at new features through a CS lens.

What advice do you have to those considering applying for the ELRP?

The ELRP gives you the freedom and privilege to experience each department that builds the company and realize how they each interact and affect the success of the others. If you're uncertain of your next step, this is a fantastic opportunity to discover your strengths and weaknesses head-on!
