Jaime Hasama Joins Kipsu!

Join us in welcoming Jaime Hasama to our Customer Partnership Team! Prior to Kipsu, Jaime studied Biology and Psychology at Macalester College. In her free time, Jaime enjoys playing her ukulele and petting cats and dogs, which she prides herself in her ability to accurately identify dog breeds. We're so excited to have her a part of the Kipsu team and asked her to chat about her experience at Kipsu so far.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

I have experience working with startups and have always loved the culture, but Kipsu is different. The importance of our core values stood out to me. After interning here in the spring, I found that the people who work here embody those values, but everyone is also trying to get better at them every day.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

Everyone is so friendly! So many people came up to me to introduce themselves and they genuinely cared about who I was as a person and not just who I was at work. The first week at any new job is overwhelming, but the warmth that I received from the team made the transition much easier.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

I’m looking forward to getting to know Kipsu a bit better from the customer success and engineering side. Getting to know our product from different angles will help me on the customer partnership team, but I’m also excited to get to know the current Kipsuvians and the new hires! It’ll be tough since we’re growing so quickly, but it’ll be a fun challenge.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value?

My favorite core value is serve others. Kipsu values the relationships that are built within our company and with our partners. These relationships are authentic and are built around trust and mutual benefit which I appreciate greatly. We also serve others outside of the office by volunteering every quarter. Community engagement is something that I’m extremely passionate about, and I’m glad that we are constantly giving back to the community that has supported us.

If you could meet any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

I would like to meet my dad for dinner because I miss him a ton. I grew up in Los Angeles and moved to go to Macalester College, but my family still lives in California. It’d be nice to see my dad since I don’t get to go home as much as I’d like. He’s been a huge role model for me and one of my biggest fans; plus we all need more dad jokes in our lives!
