Joe Quarion Joins Kipsu!

Join us in welcoming Joe Quarion to our Engineering Team! Prior to Kipsu, Joe built mobile and web apps for startups at a small software agency. Outside of work, Joe loves having adventures with his family, independent travel and karaoke. We're excited to have him join the Kipsu team and asked Joe to share his experience with Kipsu so far.

What drew you to Kipsu in contrast to other companies?

I love the emphasis on values and diversity, the compelling product of Kipsu, and how positive and motivated the people I met are.

What were some things you noticed about the Kipsu team during your first week?

New team members are well supported during their onboarding, with plenty of materials to read, exercises to do, and guidance for getting set up. Although the company has been growing larger, the weekly all-company meeting keeps it feeling like a close-knit team where everyone’s up to date.

What challenges are you looking forward to tackling in your work at Kipsu?

I’m excited to learn some new technologies, and to work to keep our codebase clean and well-structured as new features and integrations increase its complexity.

What is your favorite Kipsu core value?

Serve Others. When people have small egos and are eager to help and empathize with one another, it creates a positive environment that encourages everyone to learn, grow, and succeed.

If you could meet any person for a chat over a shared dinner, who would you pick and why?

Harriet Tubman. She’s an American hero who had an extraordinary range of talents and experiences, like freeing herself and many others from slavery. She also participated in the Civil War as a nurse, spy, guide of a military raid, and worked in the abolitionist and women’s suffrage movements. She would have such incredible stories and insights.
